CiteWise Research Private Limited ("CiteWise Research", "we", "us") operates this website. This policy explains what happens to information you give us here. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
We collect only what you type into the enquiry form on our contact page:
- Your name and email address — required, because we cannot reply without them.
- Phone or WhatsApp number — optional, used only if you would prefer we contact you that way.
- Research area and target journal — optional, so the person who replies already understands your field.
- Your message — whatever you choose to tell us.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive at the site. It records things like the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and the type of device and browser you use. It sets cookies in your browser to do this. We have IP anonymisation switched on, so your full address is not stored.
We use it to decide what to write about next. We do not use it to identify you personally, we have not enabled advertising or remarketing features, and we do not run advertising trackers or third-party embeds of any other kind.
Google processes this data on our behalf and under its own terms. If you would rather not be measured at all, any of these works and none of them affects the site:
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn on "Do Not Track" or blocking in your browser's privacy settings.
- Use any content or tracker blocker — we do not attempt to detect or defeat them.
The only other cookie this site can set is a sign-in cookie for our own staff on the administration page, which visitors never reach.
What we do with it
We use your enquiry to reply to your enquiry, and to carry on that conversation if it becomes an engagement. That is the entire purpose. Specifically, we do not:
- sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing;
- add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join;
- send you unrelated promotional email.
Your manuscript is confidential
If you go on to work with us, your unpublished manuscript, data and research ideas are treated as confidential. We do not share them outside the people working on your submission, we do not use them as examples or samples, and we do not submit anything anywhere without your explicit approval.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Enquiries are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Access requires a passcode held by our team. Enquiries are retained while they are commercially relevant and deleted when they are not; you may ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
The website is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse. That is Cloudflare acting as our infrastructure provider, and is described in their own privacy documentation.
Legal basis
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, our basis for handling enquiry data islegitimate interest — you contacted us asking for a reply, and replying is what you wanted. Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies, the basis is the consent you give by submitting the form.
For analytics our basis is legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. That data is aggregated and is not linked to any enquiry you send us.
Your rights
Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it entirely;
- stop contacting you.
Email support@citewiseresearch.com and we will action it. We do not require a particular form of words, and we will not make it difficult.
Children
This service is intended for researchers and academic professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We do not make quiet edits.
